Progress is flexible. Progress is honest.
Progress says: “Every step forward matters—even the small, messy ones.”
Tackling a New Challenge?
We’ve all been there……………….
You are motivated. You set a goal. You get excited. You make a plan.
….and then… life happens. It turns into a busy week. Something unexpected turns up. A missed workout. A dip in motivation. Suddenly, that clean, ambitious plan feels like a mess—and your inner critic starts whispering, “You’re failing again.”
But what if you’re not failing? What if you’re just being human?
The Problem with Perfection
Perfection tells you that unless it’s flawless, it doesn’t count. Unless you follow the plan perfectly, you’re falling behind. Unless you show up with full energy, full clarity, and full productivity every single time—you’re not doing enough. People will notice that you are not good enough.
There you go, you are in a mindset that will trap you! This perfectionist mindset does not leave room for life, or learning, or personal growth. It keeps you stuck in all-or-nothing thinking: either I do this perfectly, or I’ve failed. Thats where progress over perfection comes in
The Power of Progress
Progress gives you permission to:
Show up imperfectly
Start again (and again) – you become more resilient
Learn as you go
Celebrate effort, not just outcomes
This is the mindset that builds momentum. It’s how habits stick. It’s how confidence grows. It’s how change becomes sustainable—not a sprint, but a steady walk toward something meaningful. You might have a bad day, a bad week but , there is no reason not to just start again.
What Progress Might Look Like
– Journaling for 3 minutes instead of skipping it because you don’t have 30
– Having one difficult conversation, even if it’s not worded perfectly
– Saying “no” once this week when you’d usually say “yes”
– Choosing rest without guilt because you know it helps you recharge
– Pausing before responding
These moments matter.
They are progression.
……..and when you string them together, they lead to powerful, lasting change.
Reflection
Often people think they need to perform their way into self-worth. That change only counts if it’s clean, polished, and Instagram-ready. But real growth? It’s quieter, softer and more forgiving.
It happens in the in-between moments—the ones no one sees. And it often begins with this one shift: “I don’t have to be perfect. I just have to keep going.”
Go on, Give it a Try – What have you got to Lose?
What if, this week, you:
– Gave yourself permission to value progress?
– To celebrate small wins?
– To stop waiting for perfect conditions and start where you are?
Because where you are is enough and you’re allowed to move forward with compassion, not pressure.
You are not behind… you are on your way. That is what really matters…..
